JSS Medical Research is a full-service CRO built on a foundation of epidemiological and scientific expertise, with a strong network of academic affiliations and over 30 years of experience in multiple therapeutic areas.
We are an international Canadian-owned company with offices in Canada, the USA, Colombia, India and Poland. We have over 200 ongoing projects in fiscal 2020 and are present in more than 20 countries with approximately 300 full time employees.
Comprehensive services provided globally by JSS Medical Research support pharmaceutical, biotechnology, nutraceutical and medical device companies with their pre- and post-approval clinical development as well as reimbursement goals and strategies.

A Timeline of Our History

1985
JSS Medical Research was founded in 1985 by Dr. John S. Sampalis. The company began as a university-based group providing consulting services to pharmaceutical companies focusing on medical writing and statistical analysis.

1997
Service offerings were expanded to include clinical operations and information technology (IT) solutions.

2005
An internal quality assurance department was added which implemented a Quality Assurance Program under the direction of compliance specialists from SNC Lavalin Pharma. Since then, the QA Program has been managed internally, with SNC Lavalin Pharma acting as third party auditors and consultants.

2006
Since 2006, JSS Medical Research has operated as a full service CRO adding quality assurance, study monitoring and training to its services.

2012
Offering expansion in health economics and outcomes research, providing reimbursement strategy services and leveraging health economics expertise to build the key elements of reimbursement submissions.

2013
In September, 2013 a new office (JSS Medical Research Colombia S.A.S.) was opened in Bogotá, Colombia following the acquisition of Latam Clinical Trials.

2014
The company consolidates its position in Canada by merging with Integrated Research Inc.

2015
The acquisition of Max Neeman International represents a significant step in the company’s growth in the Asia/Pacific region.

2016
In May 2016, JSS Medical Research acquired Bonne Santé, CRO in Poland to accelerate the expansion into Europe.

2017
JSS fully integrates and harmonizes its SOPs, implements remote and risk-based monitoring

2021
Today, JSS Medical Research is one of the largest Canadian-owned CROs in Canada with approximately 300 full time employees and 50 contractual-based consultants, mainly clinical research associates and clinical research coordinators.
